Directional Signs provide information and guidance needed for the safe and efficient movement of traffic. To be effective, a sign should meet the following basic requirements:
a) Command attention;
b) Convey a clear, consistent and concise message;
c) Provide continued information to the destination; and
d) Give adequate time for an appropriate response.
