New Managing Director for Rennicks
Andy Campbell has been appointed Managing Director of Rennicks. A Civil Engineer with over 30 years’ experience, Mr. Campbell has worked in Ireland, the UK, UAE and Australia, and brings with him a wealth of knowledge in Project Management, Business Development and Leadership.
He previously worked as an Associate Director with Amey, one of the UK’s leading providers of vital infrastructure and public services, and was responsible for the company’s Highways Consulting Business in the Midlands (UK) and Ireland. His role saw him responsible for an annual turnover in excess of £30million and the management of over 400 staff. Prior to this he was director for Mouchel, an international Infrastructure and Business Services Group for 22 years in the UK Dubai, and Australia. During this period, he rose from an entry-level employee to become a Board Member charged with delivering key sector strategies for this £250million business. Mr. Campbell holds a BSc (Hons) in Civil Engineering and is a Chartered Engineer and PRINCE2 Practitioner.
Mr. Campbell’s experience, knowledge and visionary leadership will underpin our company’s focus on developing a road network that can communicate with drivers by using interactive lights, smart energy and road signs that adapt to specific traffic situations.
When speaking of his new role, Mr. Campbell said “Up until now, innovation and advances in technology have focused upon developing the ‘smart’ car. However, while we have had intelligent cars for some time, our belief is that roads should be able to communicate and interact with their drivers in order to promote not only traffic safety, but traffic efficiency. So, my goal is to ensure Rennicks will be at the forefront of re-imagining the road network in Ireland.”
