RUS 046 Prohibited Number of Axles
The RUS 046, Prohibited Number of Axles sign, indicates that vehicles designed for goods, or other non-passenger vehicles, with a number of axles equal to or exceeding that indicated are prohibited, except for access to premises within the restricted area. This sign is generally used for traffic management reasons, for example to prohibit large vehicles from a town centre. Where the weight of each individual axle needs to be restricted for structural reasons, Sign RUS 054, Maximum Axle Weight, should be used.
